Bank of America Contact Information
Bank of America annoys and frustrates their customers by various methods. The most common problems stem from bank fees, their banking policies and their customer service departments lack of effort.
Ways of Contacting Bank of America:
Live Chat
Never use Bank of America Live Chat, its a waste of time and the operators cant do anything that one speaking with customer service will need. Live chat is basically where you are told to call a phone number or see a local branch. I’ve personally have spoken with various Live Chat reps, while mostly friendly, they have never once fixed a problem or even had the ability to do so. Each time they refer you somewhere else. So whats the point of having it? Maybe they can drop that service and save the taxpayers some bailout money.
Online Mail
You will receive an automated message slightly altered to your question, if even pertaining to your questions at all. I’ve run tests with this service. Basically, I’d ask a specific question relating to my account and wait on the reply. Usually within 12-24 hours, a frustrating auto generated response comes that makes you wonder if they even read the question. It appears they also have no abilities to edit accounts, remove fees, or even answer valid questions. Online messaging wont work if you have a serious or time sensitive issue.
Telephone
Live help and email will only get your referred to a phone number, normally the basic customer service number found on the back of your debit card. Expect to wait 5-10 mins on hold and be greeted by friendly Bank of America employees. The initial reps you speak with have certain abilities, but for more serious issues you will need to ask for a manager or supervisor. Don’t expect fees to be removed, interest rates to be changed, or leave the conversation better off than when you started. 9 times in 10, youll begin to wonder how this company stays in business and why the heck the United States taxpayers bailed them out. As friendly as the staff might be and as many times as they love having you as a Bank of America customer, phone resolutions don’t happen as often as you’d think. Again, the people are nice, seem like they wanna help – they just dont. For whatever reason, Bank of America customer service is like pulling teeth and it seems like they want it that way.

Local Branches
Your best bet is to visit a local branch and speak to someone in person. A manager or upper level employee is best. Live chat, email, and even phone support all want you to come inside and see them. In all reality, if you have an important issue, inside the bank is where you need to be. Bring all supporting documents, go over your case before you get there, and demand things be made right. Being polite and respectful, as much as it hurts can make things better.
